Went to the only Toys R Us around me to get the new Mega Yarn Yoshi and they were sold out.

They only had 6 in stock.

6...
There is probably no other TRU in a 40 mile radius of that one.
Wtf

Some guy just bought two and was talking about how he wanted to buy more but he got the last one.

Just gonna buy one off eBay. Not willing to drive out of my way to get one.

It's the Fallout Nuka Cola soda at Target all over again

Welcome to the ****ty world of collectibles.

I wanted to grab a particular record for record store day this year, and people started camping out ~15 hours before the store opened.  Turns out they only got 2 copies of that record in, and they were taken by the first 2 people in line.  Sneakers are in a similar situation, online releases camped by bots and in-store releases camped by scalpers who buy large numbers of pairs to sell on ebay and employees who 'reserve' pairs for themselves and their friends.

Yea. I've only recently started buying things like this, but not even as collectables, but because I want to use them.I don't buy any Amiibos other then the Yarn Yoshis because I have the game.

I've hear about shoes being bought up by bots and then I deal with a lot of employees hiding items or saying they're "reserved" but I haven't come across someone in person that is buying to resell. I guess that's why I'm more bothered by anything.

If I would have gone in the middle of the day and they were sold out, oh well.

But I'm there at opening and see the guy hanging out and talking to other people that were there to buy it, pretty much rubbing it in their face.

There were even some kids with their mom that came in later asking about them as I was leaving.

:-X Yeah, the world of not only collectibles, but price gouging said collectibles (and adding to huge lines on release dates and such) can get messy and ugly. I'm glad I don't care much about that side of things aside from certain more niche things that people aren't always frenzied for. I still think the keyboard hobby doesn't see this phenomenon nearly as much or as badly as the other groups. Except maybe for artisans.

TL;DR - I hate washing dishes!

Dishes. I absolutely loath dishes. When I was single I always had disposable dishes. Aside from a mug, two pans, and a pizza cutter, everything was disposable. My wife is a chef and has more dishes and **** than I knew existed. This is cool and I get to gorge on incredible meals but there is a problem. She doesn't rinse or clean things immediately. She leaves it as if the sink is the dish pit at work and someone else will take care of it.

It's been over a week now and our kitchen looks like a scene out of hoarders and I'm trying my best to clean this **** and damn! There is egg dried in one bowl, chocolate in 4 different bowls and on a whisk and spatula, etc... It has to be done by hand because the dishwasher than came with the house we're renting is the worst dishwasher I've ever experienced. It is literally our drying rack now.

I guess the positive is my hands are soft and clean.

Gender roles, mate! You are doing it wrong!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I hate when people let dishes sit and crust-up.  Ugh.  I even hate when I do it myself.  It's just so stupid.  Take the five minutes and clean it right away!

I throw in on them a couple times a year at most. This might be the 3rd time for 2015.

I have caused a good fight when she asked me to do them once and my response was, "I'm not doing that ****! That's woman's work."

This is what I usually do. I've tried helping her along the way but I'm just in the way. It seems I should help, she makes the stuff, I clean up the dishes, but, whatever. I'd just as soon make ramen and clean up after myself.

She typically lets herself work 12-14 hour days, sometimes pushes it to 16. She is dead tired, but it's her own fault for staying late and "helping" others. That can be good but it's always the same lazy *******s and they never reciprocate.

Group work.  I was given the dubious honor of being the leader of the group since nobody else stepped up and we'd get penalized if a leader wasn't chosen.  Now that I am leader, 6/9 people in the group do not respond and when they do it's completely useless information.  I know I shouldn't be surprised but goddamn some people are stupid as hell.  How have they managed to survive so long and hold down jobs/careers!?  Dear Lord...

A group ... what?  Is it something that everyone has to do together, or is it a project that can be developed with varying input?  Someone has to take the reins, and you did!  That's pretty heavy right there, but what exactly is the goal of the "team"?
Being a leader is also putting trust in your co-workers and seeing what each person is capable of doing in any project.  It's not taking it over.
I hope that made sense.

It's for my MBA program.  The people I work with are nowhere near as bad.  And trust me...it's not my first rodeo.  That doesn't make the frustration any less, though.

Well, sure!  It's a lot of pressure!  Once everything is organized, things will fall into place!  Good luck!

After drinking water basically non-stop since I woke up, it has greatly improved.  Apparently having two beers mid-afternoon yesterday dehydrated me enough to make me wake up with a headache that lasts all day...

Thanks for the concern.  :-*  I know you're one of the couple people around here that suffers from actual migraines, so I appreciate you humoring my paltry little headache.  :P

I know how it feels too Hoff.  Extra-strength Tylenol does nothing for me.  Advil works to some degree, but I find Aleve (Naproxen) works best for me.

Aleve is the best. I pick medicine based on the severity of the side effects. I guess I assume the really good stuff comes with higher risk. So I see the Aleve bottle and I'm like, "may cause stomach bleeding? This is my jam!"

Glad to hear it has improved. Dehydration will do it. Can cause migraines too. So can sex. So stay away from that also. Ha.

Like I said it doesn't matter who you are..headaches suck.  Some of my home remedies: take a hot shower, use a cold eye mask, take a shot of espresso and a baby aspirin alongside pain meds (both act as boosters), distraction with tv/movies/female, head massage.

Hope you feel better buddy.

I want to just take a nap, but I need to be awake when this game ends so I can take advantage of the remaining twenty minutes of sunlight to take some pictures and attempt to sell my car.

Did your headache go away bro?  Sorry to hear about that. Headaches, of any type, suck.

:))

inb4 meth solves all problems

TECHNICALLY..  Meth does solve all problems..   The issue is that it solves them SO THOROUGHLY,  that you don't really need anything else ,  except more Meth..

My wife started using migraine formula vitamins that she finds very helpful.

But drinking plenty of water is always a good idea.

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Water is usually the answer. They say 8 glasses a day, but "more than you usually drink" is a good start.

I'm currently bothered by that wait-until-a-year-after-receiving-a-keyset-to-open-it-only-to-find-you're-missing-some-keys effect that I seem to encounter all too often...  :(  I really need to double check these things as soon as they arrive...

How are you capable of waiting a year to open a keyset after you receive it? I usually last about 10 seconds.

When I receive keysets at twice the rate I purchase new keyboards, and therefore don't have an immediate use for them, they are not inventoried immediately.  :-[  It sucks especially much when I get the set for a specific build, so definitely have a use for it, but just don't realize it until I start the build.  :|

The B vitamins apparently have the opposite taste of sugar/carbohydrates/alcohol and make you less desirable to bugs.

I take B-complex during the summer when I am going to be outside, and it seems to help considerably.

It usually occurs when the other person realizes they can't win the argument so they try to find any flaw you are making.

This is why I never brought my consoles or any games to school. I cheated a bit my final semester, but by then I knew it was okay because it was my last few months in college.

So backstory. I work for a non profit organization that does youth and adult sports. We have a winter youth basketball league starting up in December. I am in charge of said league and have to recruit coaches for it. I have been given a fairly unrealistic goal this year in terms of participants and coaches (25% increase from last year), but I'm doing my best to get them with $0 for advertising. I was told I had to come recruit members from the church (separate organization) to coach (very apathetic, older group that does not volunteer even for small things let alone a biweekly commitment for 4 months). I'm now being told I have to come again to recruit members from another church. I was told when I took this position that I would not have to work Sundays and I made it very clear that I would not work on Sundays. In addition, I'm salaried so of course I don't get anything for working extra and driving 55 miles round trip to come in on my day off.

Edit: I should add I'm not as upset about the driving or extra hours as I am the agreement not being upheld. I work 15+ hours of overtime a week during the summer, but I knew that when I signed up to be a summer camp/athletic director. I get upset when people don't keep their word though.
