I'm always worried the gifts I give, especially for birthdays or Christmas, aren't good enough. Packing my SS and some other gifts now and I'm feeling a bit anxious lol.

Has he stacked four fans on top of each other in hopes of increasing the airflow (essentially running the fans "in series" :P )?

I don't think that's how that works.

Me too. I may be going overboard with the SS but I don't want to let my Santee down. How much are we allegedly supposed to spend and how much do most spend?

There's no set amount either way. I think my SS is good. I forgot I had an extra package of stuff for the Santee so I'm feeling good about it now. But the other presents are like UGH. And I'm always nervous the stuff I get my family isn't good enough. I worry about that the most.

I got my family a bunch of well-reviewed movies last year. To this day not one of them has been watched.

Schindler's List? 2001? Spirited Away? What the hell was I thinking? I'm sure those are all good films, but not the kind of thing people typically like to watch. Cringe

hahahahhahaha

Fan stacking does work.. But it'd very hard to determine the proper distance between fans.. pretty much has to be experimentally determined each time.

This post bothers me.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I've been dealing with palpitations for the past 4-5 days now. It's been bothering me a bit, especially when I'm trying to fall asleep and my heart feels like it's working overtime. Went to the doctor today to have it checked out. Everything seemed normal, lungs and heart sounded fine, bloodpressure was slightly on the high side, but according to my doctor it was nothing to be worried about. He said it could just be due to stress. He suggested that I should get an EKG and some bloodtests taken, just to be on the safe side. So I'll get that done on tuesday and hopefully have the results at the end of the week. Fingers crossed!

That sucks, last night was one of two nights in recent history, 3 months, that I've slept more than 7 hours.. It was actually 14.

Only bad thing now is that I feel like I've wasted the day.

I'm still on here quite often, I find myself typing up a post and then deleting it before hitting send. I feel like most people just skim over my posts so I don't really see a point in continuing to post. I loved joining geekhack, everyone so friendly and talkative but its seemed to have changed. That's just my opinion though, still love it here but just don't feel the spark like I first did.

My interest here is diminishing...finding myself posting less and less :(

nah, you're just getting a life  :))

Ah, don't worry about it. Half my posts go un-replied, but I'm still chugging along! Shoot, I was tempted a few times to write in this thread that no one replies to my posts!

I think you're probably just trying to catch a breather, too. You bought some really nice stuff and are probably feeling burnt out. I'm feeling the same, so I'm going to cool off on a lot of keyboard-related purchases, but only to give my wallet some time to heal so I can come back strong early next year.
Still gonna keep posting all day, e'ry day, though.

Yeah definitely feeling burnt out a little, one thing that kept me coming back was wanting to continue to upgrade what I had. There doesn't really seem to be any new keysets or boards that I NEED, some I like but would much rather have the extra cash at this point. I have basically everything I need at this point, until the LS v3, RetroBlight, and Penumbra r2 I won't be doing much spending from what I see.

If you need a break, take one. You can always come back. :)

Or try to hit 10 posts a day. Someone will eventually respond to something, haha.

I feel this way on Deskthority :-X I love both forums, but for some reason, I just feel cosier here. I suppose if I could make vintage hauls all the time, I'd have a ton more to talk about there! No such luck though. :P

GeekHack is cosy, though I can relate to sometimes feeling overlooked, but I doubt that it's every truly intentional.
