First UPS tracking says my ~40lb of dog food was delivered today but it wasn't.

Second I had to reinstall windows and its been updating forever....currently installing update 135 of 216.

And thirdly I can't do the cad work I picked up to make an extra couple bucks until the windows updates are done.

One more..apparently my mouse dongle won't work when I have a usb3 portable drive plugged in.... :-\

There's a severe memory leak in the Windows update tool.

I had a new installation installing around 200 updates.  It got to about 172, filled the RAM, filled the swap and basically hung for at least 12 hours (I left it overnight).  The next morning I tried to cancel the process, and ended up just powering down the machine.  Upon reboot it seemed to finish installing the updates it had processed, and offered a bunch more.  Another reboot.  A bunch more updates.  Another reboot.  A bunch more updates.  Another reboot.  Thank you Microsoft.
Yeah my windows update was using ~12 gigs of ram

You no got SSD ?

My windowz updates finish within 1 hour..

A strong Cpu helps lots too..

840pro
4.8ghz 2600k
16gb ddr 2600

It's sad to think this is probably approaching the minimum system requirements JUST TO INSTALL UPDATES on Windows.

Well,, the reason you'd need the CPU power, is because it does checksum for every update.. and I'm not super sure, but the whole ordeal is not multithreaded either.. so it's reliant on single core performance..

And with this sort of thing,  memory bandwidth, and disk bandwidth makes a big difference as well, because it's just moving things back and forth.

Checksums for a couple of hundred updates shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes, even on a humble CPU.

There was another bug in Windows update a few years back where for each update Windows would check each other update, whether it was installed or not.  And for each one of those updates it would check all the other updates, and so on.

Almost safer not to install any updates, and just unplug your network cable.

****ing with you man.

My recharging formula:
Exercise 45 minutes (whatever you can motivate yourself to do)
Cut down on caffeine a bit.
Sleep in one day (push things aside if you can, make it a priority).
Less sugar (less energy swings).
No TV or electronic anything more than two hours before bedtime.

Make it a religious priority and you'll feel better soon

Not really. The stuffed crust is the only type of Digorno I'll buy as it's worth eating through all that cardboard for the delicious crust at the end   :))

I just realized you were taking about stuffed crust. Think they're around $6.50 or so, which is too much. I don't even by the normal ones at $5. Gotta wait for coupons or sales like you said.

I've totally been there. I had a similar situation, one of the bolts that held my caliper on sheered right off. EVERYTHING had to get replaced. I was eating ramen form weeks. Of course those salty carbohydrates are yummy af, so at least I had that going for me.

Multimeter probe snapped
Get some fluke leads. They can break, but I have only had one break on me in about 10 years. And it was badly bent before it broke.

Going to bed alone and lonely every night.

Hahahahhhahahaha.. hah ahahhaah...  ah hahha.. ah ha.. .. hoooowehhhh... ahhhhh.. oh god... the tears won't stop...

But in all seriousness, i think many young guyz/girlz  has this problem..  They want to marry up/ date - up..

I find that if most people would just ' date down ' there would be infinitly more potential partners..

Overall,  I think even if you are a 'very objective' person, you think, well I want at least 1:1..    I still think that this only ruins dating for you because you reduce greatly the opportunity for you to gain 'experience' ..

It's like for your first car,  you don't need the best one,  you don't want that ridiculously high monthly payment, etc..

Just lease a cheaper car .  drive it around,  see how you like it..     Then when you're ready,  hey, maybe you buy it straight up,  OR you can decide, no I want a better car...

But if you're always waiting for the mercedes, even if you find a way to afford it later on,  you may not have the 'experience' to utilize it properly / maintence/ etc..

So.. Go out today,  and find a car, start driving, is the important take away from all this.

I had to work late tonight, I thought that was going to be a whole thing. Turns out it went smooth as silk. I should be happy. Instead, I'm just bored. I dunno what is wrong with me.

To compensate I ate the remainder of my homemade ice cream, which has set me off into a coughing fit (cold triggers the cough). So that was probably not the best plan, but it was so good. Thank goodness no one is here to hear me coughing like a fool.
