the argument here is professional gaming is not a sport. I never said it doesn't take a lot of work or dedication. I respect what they do, I mean good for them they found exactly what they are good at and are making dough. I'm jealous that I still haven't found my calling.

I just believe the word sport should not be related to video games but they are Professionals, experts, gifted, ect. at playing video games.

I honestly don't give two ****s about the term esports and what counts as a sport or not. The hornet's nest I am going to keep poking is that if you think competing in video games at a professional level isn't work, you're naive. Anything you do for 10+ hours a day and get paid for and compete with other professionals for limited positions for, ceases to be recreation and becomes work. Saying that it's not real work because it's not manual labor is just, really really dumb and there's no way you actually believe it in arenas other than games. You could make the same arguments for mathematicians or software devs or politicians for that matter.

Are people actually saying that?  Even if you love doing something you generally start to love it a lot less when you end up having to do it for a living, because then it's just a damn job.  I see it all the time in the tax field, where being self-employed is this supposed holy grail because you're your own boss and can pick your own hours too!  But after these people quit their W2 job and the novelty wears off, they realize that even if they are doing something they really love, they now can't just do that **** on the side for fun or when they simply want to, you now have to do it for your livelihood.

I see, the majority of jobs require a lot of more hard work that tires you out a lot more than esports does, esports is hard in a mental way sure but you can have a lot more fun doing it, doesn't mean it's not a real job or anything, but a lot of ppl try to say it can be as hard as a mill work or roofing job, not here thankfully but I see people in YouTube comments trying to say it's as demanding and I just have gotten so annoyed by them.
