Bad Guys 2,  Ehh.. Both 1st one and now new one is pretty soft. Not ground breaking, but casually cajole enough, solidly watchable..

Elio,  10/10 Kids movie.

Adult reviewers merely need something to Hate-on to project themselves / fuel to justify their meaningless existence. Don't mind them, they're sick.

For its intended audience, this movie is Perfection,  plot,  message,  teaching moments, pacing,  animation, colors, HDR,  flawless execution.

If you don't want your kid to become a murdering psychopath that hates Mexicans, ala-Fortnite/Pubg/Battlefield,  they aught to watch movies such as these.

I like Pedro, but I don't like that Dakota - she is dead for me after that grey movie.

Finally got around to watching the new Mission impossible.

Now, the whole movie is pretty bad, but this "tech" part.

So they got this bundle of wires, they're supposed to be solar panels, now patched in to become "antennas",  the wiring quality is shown below.

And the two alligator clips from the now-Antenna go into a receiver.

This is supposed to transmit 360 Terabytes of data, in 100ms.

That is 36 Terabyte per second, over a pair of alligator clips that's hook up to some hand wired solar panels.  Whaaaaaaa?

Hand wired 23awg, very well done will do 10 gigabit over 4 twist pair ethernet, which is only 0.00125 Terabyte/second

And they want 36 Terabyte/sec,  Wirelessly over a pair of alligator clips.

The copper simply won't support it, Antennas have to be made of a very specific material, at a specific length thickness (dimensions) TUNED to the specific frequency they're supposed to receive.   There is no way a make shift antenna would have the right characteristics to transmit that much data properly.

Wifi 7 is only theoretically 46gigabit, we can't even do that outside of a lab.

Rarely do shows similar to Peacemaker live up to the originality and hype of their first season, but so far season 2 proves Peacemaker is still the best goddamn superhero show on television! It is so good  :thumb:

What? Something in a movie not plausible?

Umm. Whaa..?

This movie made money?

This is a horrible movie, from start to finish. Even worse than the last few nepo high heels iterations.

Can't think of a single positive thing to say about it. Even the dino-cgi was lame.

 the new

movies these days

Considering the whole of literature and the armies of writers available, what is the point of so many necro facsimiles?

I will grant that perhaps 5%-10% of remakes and sequels are better than the originals.

If American then 99%.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Most new movies in the U.S.  are made to be international, which means a lot of lot of themes do not work, for example comedy in the US is not the same as comedy in China, so we get no new comedies. Superheroes translate well. They also use generic lighting so it can be tweaked for different markets, camera views and screens. Same goes for dialogue, it too needs to easily translate. Basically movies are now generic to appeal to a world market. A modest movie in 6 markets outperforms a great movie in just the US and it's cheaper to produce.

They also have no incentive, many movies are now made just to fill space on a streaming service.
