Sweet Sausage vs Hot Sausage
« on: Wed, 18 January 2017, 15:40:39 »
IMHO, mechanically..  One can make a sweet sausage Hot,  but no one can Un-Hot a Hot Sausage..

So In theory ,  the Sweet Sausage is the more versatile, like the swappable switch plates..  and the Hot sausage is the regular plate.

Hot, always. Sweet sausage is disgusting.

I'm not sure we have sweet sausage.  We either have Mild or Spicy/Hot.  I vote for Hot.

I heard it's a very cruel process to produce white meat veal, because they need to tie up the baby cows so their muscles don't develop, any exercise turns the meat red.

Or he means a different kind of white German sausage, in which case it might be not so cruel :)) .

Hot sausage is the only way to go. the only time sweet sausage is decent is when you cook it with a nice breakfast. Any other time sausage is consumed it should always be hot.

If I'm doing a stirfry with onions and pepper, I usually go with the sweet sausage because too much spiciness overpowers the sweetness of onions and peppers.

Just try it. Sure, you'll **** up a few things along the way. But each time you'll get better and eventually you'll start impressing even yourself.

I mean there are an ungodly number of videos, guides and recipes out there. Just pick something basic and give it a go.

After numerous sausages in the past weeks..

I think Preboiling is the way to go..

It's just much more Moist on the inside if you preboil, then seer the outside on a skillet..

Cooking all the way on the skillet makes it come out too dry..

No, I do greener, but I work with people who do cancer research.

Basically those "research" bits that talk about peanut butter and bacon and whatever increasing the chances of contracting cancer are about as non-scientific as it gets, to the point of being phony. They just manipulate control groups until they come up with a significant statistic.

I don't quite understand why --scientists-- do this..  even if they publish, what's the point, they spend the time to cheat the system, but they will NEVER get that time back.. they're wasting their life..   It makes no sense to me why (supposidly smart) scientists would throw their LIFE away on something so worthless..

I used to use Liquid Smoke a lot, until I learned that is is simply the filtered residue that is cleaned from the inside of chimneys. That curbed my enthusiasm.

What about hot AND sweet?

Or sweet and sour?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

In science, one should care less about writing style and more about the facts / data gathered / proper analysis.  Good writing is, unfortunately, a bonus.  I've not read the book myself, only read about the original study and what it showed.

Basically any animal protein, as far as I've read.  Likely due to the bacteria that accompany it.  nutritionfacts.org is pretty good about presenting summaries about different foods and ingredients, based on the current peer-reviewed research.  Like for example:
https://nutritionfacts.org/video/which-are-better-chia-seeds-or-flax-seeds/

there's a "sources cited" section for everything.

It's up to you.  Read about it if you want.  It's just a place where a group of people summarizes peer-reviewed research.  I do think they've sensationalized the headlines on that site, but I suppose that's what grabs attention.  The important part is that they have references to research.  If you don't believe something, click on some of the reference links and go from there.  It's a major problem in nutrition how much political lobbying for different industries pushes the public opinion.

It's all sausage, baby!
No need to make decisions!

Embrace the sausage!

tee hee

You could embrace it.

Or you could eat it.

I prefer to eat it.
