cheap 60% DIY kits?
« on: Tue, 24 July 2018, 20:07:17 »
I'm trying to find a cheap DIY kit for a 60% (maybe even 40%) board, but all I come across are rather expensive ones. (The AMJ is $150+). I just need a case, PCB and plate. I honestly don't even care if the case is plastic. I just need to build a board, cheap, fast....

Any help in steering me the right direction would be helpful. Thank you.

Search GH60 on Amazon and you will find all the parts you need.
case - $14
pcb - $30
stabs - $6 (spend more and get better ones)

Plate -  $23
Plate is optional and on a gh60, not as big of a deal as it is on something larger.

Good response. Hey, I wish I had the witticisms and knowledge you do. Maybe I should try to sit behind my computer and think of cool smart aleck comments to make, instead of helping someone. But that would take guts and integrity, of which you have none.

Have fun wondering what vagina tastes like.

I would just collect all the parts your self to make the diy kits. It isn't that hard tbh.

Case = Plastic, aluminium enough budget cases these days ranges from 40 -??? dollar for aluminium.
PCB = 60% DZ60 all the way. 35 dollars USB C possible
Plate = Cheap aluminium plate 15 dollars or even cheaper 10-15 dollars
stabs = 100% go for geniune cherry stabs clip/lube em optional tho. It's worth the extra costs! 10-15 dollars
switches = Gateron 0,20 each can't go really wrong with that. 65 switches 13 dollars at the moment at KBDfans.
Keycaps = depends on your taste. Enjoypbt blanks cheap and cherry profile great quality.

Aliexpress prices(exclude novelkeys)
Low profile aluminium case 40-45 dollars
DZ60 35 dollars
Aluminium plate 15,50 dollars
switches 13,60 dollars
Geniune cherry stabs - Novel keys. 8 Dollars excluding shipping. Not sure how much it would be i am from EU :p
Keycaps blank pbt cherry profile key caps 33 dollars

Total 150,10 dollars - It could be much cheaper if a plastic case is being used.

Best bang for the buck will be used/new Pok3r from ebay/mechmarket for $80-100. To get something better with DIY is going to cost you a lot more.
