Sheep marketing.  Just because a million people thought it was a good idea/purchase doesn't mean ****, except that they assume the first thousand didn't buy in just because it way cheap.

But turns out the building I just moved into has a rotten apple kid that beats his mum up all the time

Witnessed some **** and had to make a statement

Well, kids tend to grow up and mature...sooner or later...with or without, well, "help" from the outside.

Apparently everyone at the police station knows this guy and have been dealing with him for the last 3 years

Multiple assault charges but never seem to stick because his mum (who he beats up all the time) comes to his defense

I had exactly the same problem with my younger brother, he had couple years long phase of stealing money from parents and being violent to mom / yelling to our paralyzed dad (I was some 200 miles away each time...), and whenever I mentioned some extreme measures (say, police) - mother was there to stop me. Always, she didn't want to even hear about that. No reason, just emotions.

Talking to him had zero effect, he would just silently stare at the floor or pretend that he didn't hear - when I arrived and talked to him (I mean, there is not much arguing about what he did really...) or avoiding to answer phone calls otherwise.

I will spare you details (of course, it's much more complicated and messy than just what I wrote) but eventually he grew out of that phase, into a ( more-less :)  ) normal human being for quite some time now.

Glad to hear he grew out of it

Cops had a pretty bad impression of this guy - one of them who gave a lift to the station said he expected him to stab his mum any day now

I am having some very confusing thoughts about where I am in life. I know what route to take for the best outcome but there is one aspect I don't know how to confront and its nerve wrecking. 12 months and 24 days ago I lost sight of my future, everything in hindsight completely gone. In life you'll never be in complete control and it can throw you some curve balls that you will never hit. When reflecting on life it fills me anxiety, every action you do now will somehow affect your future its difficult to process. man I should just go to bed I get stupid when i am up too late  :p :p :p :p :p :p

anyone else reflect on life and it freaks you out?

We had grandpa's trophy gun in the house, I think it didn't even have any bullets. Anyway, I sold it immediately when things started happening. I didn't want to dream of what that little lunatic might do during his next adrenaline rush.

Cops should be able to do something, based on your statement? Even if mother won't cooperate, that is.

get a good sleep m8
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I sent email to my team with a screenshot of Excel chart yesterday. Coworker asks me today why he couldn't open the Excel chart when he clicked on the picture today. So instead of replying he ignored my email.

My wife missed a deadline she had for turning in paperwork for a grant she got in college. This was the final year she had to turn in said paperwork. Because she missed said deadline, said grant has now gone from a $4,000 grant to a $7,100 loan. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

All the fluids i'm drinking to try and keep me hydrated are going straight through me as well =/
