Found a little damage in the anodization by the right arrow key of my Jane. Now that I noticed it I can't stop looking at it and feel sad. You can't really even notice it if you're just sitting there typing on the board but if you look directly above it then it's noticeable. :(

I asked the wife, she's a pastry chef and also made ice cream for a local restaurant that's now won best ice cream for the 5th year in a row...

Fresh fruit should be marinated with sugar to produce a fruit syrup, marinating the fruit takes at least 8-12 hours. That will give the full flavor of the fruit while breaking down the fruit so it doesn't affect the way it churns. It basically takes the water inside the fruit and turns it into an invert sugar which gives it that silky texture. Strawberry's should be 3:1 fruit to sugar. This also depends on the level of fat in the ice cream base. Less fat = more sugar.

****. She keeps saying stuff. What kind of ice cream base are you using, what kind of strawberry's and how much ice cream are you trying to make? She's getting scientific. haha.
This is actually super helpful. I put the strawberries (1 1/3 cup, fresh) in a 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 a lemon. But I only let it sit for two hours. I'm guessing that it needed a good while longer to be ready to actually put in the mix. I'm bound and determined to get this right eventually. More to prove to myself that I can do it than anything else.

Since strawberries aren't currently in season,  you shouldn't need the lemon for any kind of balance of flavor. The only way to make this 100% accurate is to buy a food scale and measure by weight. That's the weight of the clean strawberries to sugar. Going by weight is the only way to get a consistent end product. You can puree your marinated fruit to your desired level of chunkiness and add up to no more than 40% of the total volume of the ice cream base.  Make sure you are adding a little bit of salt to the ice cream to help bring out the strawberry flavor. Avoid any vanilla if you are looking for a more pronounced taste.

So, I followed all of the above ice cream making advice hidden in the more tag. It is basically the best thing I've ever eaten. I owe both Freecopy and his badass wife a debt.

THANK YOU!

****ing Windows stupid live monitoring of audio input, I've got my Antlion ModMic hooked into the Mic input on my motherboard and there's a fairly substantial latency :(

I hate it, it's really bothering me because it doesn't look like there is going to be anything I can do about it.

Nice! We were just talking about this the other day and I was about to send you a PM asking how things turned out or if you needed anymore assistance.

Anyone makes it to town, if you give me enough advance notice, I could probably arrange for a dessert of choice to be made. Ice Cream too.

I orderd one thing of pumpkin orange idye to dye some caps off amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003W0KTQA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

They decided to ship me the freaking entire case instead.

Now i have like 20 packs of dye that I have no idea what to do with.

I am to lazy to go through the process of telling them to come get it =(

Haha I actually fixed it up pretty well, I found some nail polish matching the color of my case and put the slightest amount on the area where the anodization was scratched up. So now there's just two very small dents that aren't even noticeable from the normal view of a keyboard. :D

First UPS tracking says my ~40lb of dog food was delivered today but it wasn't.

Second I had to reinstall windows and its been updating forever....currently installing update 135 of 216.

And thirdly I can't do the cad work I picked up to make an extra couple bucks until the windows updates are done.

One more..apparently my mouse dongle won't work when I have a usb3 portable drive plugged in.... :-\

There's a severe memory leak in the Windows update tool.

I had a new installation installing around 200 updates.  It got to about 172, filled the RAM, filled the swap and basically hung for at least 12 hours (I left it overnight).  The next morning I tried to cancel the process, and ended up just powering down the machine.  Upon reboot it seemed to finish installing the updates it had processed, and offered a bunch more.  Another reboot.  A bunch more updates.  Another reboot.  A bunch more updates.  Another reboot.  Thank you Microsoft.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

So I was living about 40 minutes from Sydney airport where international mail appears to come into country. Packages seemed on average to take about 3 days to get sorted in the US and delivered to Australia, and about 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. I checked a package today and its at Sydney, if it takes them 1-2 weeks to get a package about 30-40 kms I wonder how long it will take them to get it 2600kms north

Okay, you win. My day hasn't been that long. Just feels like time has been standing still today.
