OCD, strive for perfection. It is tiresome. Do I want a black or white background color scheme in VIM? What's the perfect terminal font? Do I think that black contrasts to much on my white desk and need to change my desk? What about my USB cables.. black because my hardware is black or white because they fade into my wall and desk? And So On.. Aaaargh

I have two terminals - one with black background and one with white background.  I can choose whichever seems appropriate at the time.

And don't talk to me about fonts - I have thousands of them, and dozens and dozens of fixed-pitch fonts for use in terminals.  I change font every week or two.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

One kid was up sick all night, hopefully it is viral and will pass.

There's too many pages of people being bothered by things, so please bear with the replies.  It's off topic anyway :p

Kids are generally tough - many ailments are a 24 hour thing and before you know if they'll be up and running around again.

I hope yours recovers soon :)

Regret

Regret for something you did can be tempered by time.

Regret for something you did not do can destroy you.

I hope yours if the former.

I am spending the day re-formatting and re-installing Windows (and everything else) on my boss's laptop.

The "recovery partition" didn't work.

You need green text on black background. And Terminus as font. Everything else is worse.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

One of the first things I do when I set-up a new Linux environment is change the terminal to back with green text  :p

I have green on black (the other is black on white).

My latest font is one reminiscent of the DOS days.

My previous font was Iosevka Slab, and the one before that was Iosevka, both from: https://github.com/chrissimpkins/codeface

Regret

Regret for something you did can be tempered by time.

Regret for something you did not do can destroy you.

I hope yours if the former.
It's a beautiful mix of both. And yeah, it's not good.

Well, earlier this week I was about to lose my mind because the thing stopped working properly. That situation worked itself out the next day. So no regrets there.
