Season 5 of Always Sunny In Philadelphia is perfect from front to back. Perfect sitcom, every episode is hilarious and in my opinion, a good contender for the best season of the show.

Ballerina (2025)

It's a spinoff in the Wick universe.

So, kinda lame origin plot so far,  but then, they go to a scene where the girl does ballet, and for whatever reason they have her take her ballet shoes off in that hacky dance movie, my-feet-hurts-monologue, it's just so awkward, because #1 she's clearly not a ballerina, missing all of the typical ballet joint injuries, 2, they go and cover her feet with bandaids and blood, like, whyyyy,  why was this scene necessary.

Such an awkward choice to start the damn movie.

Gut feeling, this movie gonna be not gud',  we'll see.

..

Fighting in high heels, ah, so it's that type of movie.

---

Aghhkkhhhh..  Well, Tp4 doesn't hate it. The flamethrower scenes looked good.   General scenery was alot of Unreal Engine 5.

The problem is the murderthon being exceptionally pointless.

How are we even suppose to interpret/ like the main character. All she did was kill people, are we suppose to think, oh wow, a girl that kills people, that's so cool. What a role model.

The fight choreography was very grounded, and while that is more realistic, with the bland and bulky costumes, they really should'a bam it up a little with some physics defying, as is, it looked like alot of aggressive fast hugging.

It's like, they didn't want to play TOO HARD into the male-gaze because that would be politically unpalatable, yet the script has so little plot, WHAT ELSE, could there be.....  It's barren to the point of boring, and that is unforgivable.

Feel like, the audience probably went into this, to get the "Ana de Armas" experience,  but Ana de Armas, her entire career is Male-Gaze characters, Knockknock, JOI from blade runner, Paloma- 007 no time to die. Here,  they used a puffy lens, put her in puffy costumes, and the result is a bunch of brown potatos wrestling.

Then there's the davinci resolve, her face is fine, but she's too old for the character,  they could've easily fixed this in post with more smoothing,  yet another obvious mis-step.

Then this monstrosity of pointless casting vvvvv
.  You might not recognize her, Sooyoung from SNSD.

Tp4 has always said, Kpop girls, should stay kpop girls, without the right airbrush, they are NOT 4K ready, certainly not framed this tight.   We see that awkward korean jawline surgery and the weird nose tuck. She's also way too old for that hair color as it doesn't frame her face in that light, making her look jowl-y.

The problem here isn't so much that women aren't allowed to age, or the over-emphasis on the way they look.  It's that this movie assembled in the-worst-way all of these inappropriate elements on a thoroughly despondent script, butchered further by a C-team of post production.

Death Note has one of the worst and unbefitting endings of any anime. It's like they totally ran out of time and budget and hired a guest writer who's never seen the rest of the series.

The Dragon train live action is not as good as the animation.

Human beings are mediocre actors. They can not carry the exaggerated expressions that of the cgi.

Not a bad movie, but thoroughly unnecessary.  Would rather have a new animated one in its place.

I have been watching Nautilus and it is fun but often overly quirky. Through the lens of the reality of a century and a half ago it is way over the top, but compared to the 1950s Verne/Disney that film that I watched countless times in my childhood it is significantly more plausible.

Give it a try if you are bored.

"However, my view has changed in recent days. Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files."

The plot doesn't have much to do with the reality though.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Dragon Ball GT

Stop immediately.

Go back to OG, DB, or DBZ

Everything after = trash.  Except the few movies.

Well, no big deal, since it's not like we were going to get another season of Top Boy anyway.

Finally getting around to watching all of Re:Zero in anticipation of season 4 releasing next year. I'll admit it's not my typical anime but they got me. Story is 10/10, character development and worldbuilding 10/10. Season 1 hooked me in, s2 almost lost me because of the repetitive nature of that arc but had SO much lore, s3 is just perfection so far, I don't want it to end but I'm getting pretty damn close.

I can finally understand why countless nerds have made keysets based on this series

I don't mind the gender swap for Silver Surfer, but it makes zero logical sense in terms of the character's history. The 'new' SS is Shella Bal, who is Norrin Radd's love. Norrin is the SS we all know who falls for the people of Earth and quotes Shakespeare. Shella is his lover who was imprisoned by Mephisto in Hell, and the entire reason Norrin became the SS in the first place was to save his homeworld and Shella. Even if for whatever reason the movie decided to reverse Shella and Norrin's entire character history, it still makes zero sense. They are completely rewriting Galactus' history and reasoning, and the entire purpose SS exists, and that I do not approve of or understand.

Same here - after main series I never started second series and this new 3rd one.
Second series is after he ran away and ended up in woods or something - maybe I should watch that.

Split Second

Some kind of Sci-fi horror comedy, I think..
Only watched it cause Rutger Hauer is in it. One of the stupidest movies ever made.

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Another movie from 1992 like one above. Mad woman seaking revenge, infiltrating family kinda thriller :)
90s were full of those movies, popular plot, similar execution, watchable of course.

Rebecca De Mornay, always nice to watch :)

Were talked into watching Yurucamp S2.

Honestly, it's still more/less the same Capitalist driven advertisement anime for camping/travel gear. The art's fine, simplified, but thoughtful.

Anime really should go 4K.
