Season 5 of Always Sunny In Philadelphia is perfect from front to back. Perfect sitcom, every episode is hilarious and in my opinion, a good contender for the best season of the show.

Ballerina (2025)

It's a spinoff in the Wick universe.

So, kinda lame origin plot so far,  but then, they go to a scene where the girl does ballet, and for whatever reason they have her take her ballet shoes off in that hacky dance movie, my-feet-hurts-monologue, it's just so awkward, because #1 she's clearly not a ballerina, missing all of the typical ballet joint injuries, 2, they go and cover her feet with bandaids and blood, like, whyyyy,  why was this scene necessary.

Such an awkward choice to start the damn movie.

Gut feeling, this movie gonna be not gud',  we'll see.

..

Fighting in high heels, ah, so it's that type of movie.

---

Aghhkkhhhh..  Well, Tp4 doesn't hate it. The flamethrower scenes looked good.   General scenery was alot of Unreal Engine 5.

The problem is the murderthon being exceptionally pointless.

How are we even suppose to interpret/ like the main character. All she did was kill people, are we suppose to think, oh wow, a girl that kills people, that's so cool. What a role model.

The fight choreography was very grounded, and while that is more realistic, with the bland and bulky costumes, they really should'a bam it up a little with some physics defying, as is, it looked like alot of aggressive fast hugging.

It's like, they didn't want to play TOO HARD into the male-gaze because that would be politically unpalatable, yet the script has so little plot, WHAT ELSE, could there be.....  It's barren to the point of boring, and that is unforgivable.

Feel like, the audience probably went into this, to get the "Ana de Armas" experience,  but Ana de Armas, her entire career is Male-Gaze characters, Knockknock, JOI from blade runner, Paloma- 007 no time to die. Here,  they used a puffy lens, put her in puffy costumes, and the result is a bunch of brown potatos wrestling.

Then there's the davinci resolve, her face is fine, but she's too old for the character,  they could've easily fixed this in post with more smoothing,  yet another obvious mis-step.

Then this monstrosity of pointless casting vvvvv
.  You might not recognize her, Sooyoung from SNSD.

Tp4 has always said, Kpop girls, should stay kpop girls, without the right airbrush, they are NOT 4K ready, certainly not framed this tight.   We see that awkward korean jawline surgery and the weird nose tuck. She's also way too old for that hair color as it doesn't frame her face in that light, making her look jowl-y.

The problem here isn't so much that women aren't allowed to age, or the over-emphasis on the way they look.  It's that this movie assembled in the-worst-way all of these inappropriate elements on a thoroughly despondent script, butchered further by a C-team of post production.

Death Note has one of the worst and unbefitting endings of any anime. It's like they totally ran out of time and budget and hired a guest writer who's never seen the rest of the series.

The Dragon train live action is not as good as the animation.

Human beings are mediocre actors. They can not carry the exaggerated expressions that of the cgi.

Not a bad movie, but thoroughly unnecessary.  Would rather have a new animated one in its place.

I have been watching Nautilus and it is fun but often overly quirky. Through the lens of the reality of a century and a half ago it is way over the top, but compared to the 1950s Verne/Disney that film that I watched countless times in my childhood it is significantly more plausible.

Give it a try if you are bored.

Michael Wolff says he urged Epstein to release information he had on Trump, but Epstein appeared worried about what Trump would do to him.
Epstein told him, “I may be a pervert, but I’m not crazy.” Epstein continued, "Trump is a man without any scruples.”

The plot doesn't have much to do with the reality though.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Stop immediately.

Go back to OG, DB, or DBZ

Everything after = trash.  Except the few movies.

Finally getting around to watching all of Re:Zero in anticipation of season 4 releasing next year. I'll admit it's not my typical anime but they got me. Story is 10/10, character development and worldbuilding 10/10. Season 1 hooked me in, s2 almost lost me because of the repetitive nature of that arc but had SO much lore, s3 is just perfection so far, I don't want it to end but I'm getting pretty damn close.

I can finally understand why countless nerds have made keysets based on this series

I don't mind the gender swap for Silver Surfer, but it makes zero logical sense in terms of the character's history. The 'new' SS is Shella Bal, who is Norrin Radd's love. Norrin is the SS we all know who falls for the people of Earth and quotes Shakespeare. Shella is his lover who was imprisoned by Mephisto in Hell, and the entire reason Norrin became the SS in the first place was to save his homeworld and Shella. Even if for whatever reason the movie decided to reverse Shella and Norrin's entire character history, it still makes zero sense. They are completely rewriting Galactus' history and reasoning, and the entire purpose SS exists, and that I do not approve of or understand.

Same here - after main series I never started second series and this new 3rd one.
Second series is after he ran away and ended up in woods or something - maybe I should watch that.

Some kind of Sci-fi horror comedy, I think..
Only watched it cause Rutger Hauer is in it. One of the stupidest movies ever made.

The Hand That Rocks the Cradle

Another movie from 1992 like one above. Mad woman seaking revenge, infiltrating family kinda thriller :)
90s were full of those movies, popular plot, similar execution, watchable of course.

Rebecca De Mornay, always nice to watch :)

Were talked into watching Yurucamp S2.

Honestly, it's still more/less the same Capitalist driven advertisement anime for camping/travel gear. The art's fine, simplified, but thoughtful.

Anime really should go 4K.

Watched the first couple episodes, good so far. It just leaves off where New Blood ended. If you liked that then you'll like Resurrection. Lot's of references and payoffs for people who've seen the entire series from the beggining.

Only gripe is that Dexter has been going on for far too long now and I'm much more interested in the continuation of the spinoff Original Sin

The new Happy Gilmore is actually not terrible.

I watched half of it and stopped, couldn't take this crap anymore - its not even funny, humor in this movie is so weirdly low, maybe back in 90s it was funny, but I just could not finish it, it was so flat, silly and how to say it in english, cringy? I can take some of Sandler's jokes in movies like 50 first dates, which was really good, but those scene-jokes were really terrible and repetitive. For me, terrible movie.

What Tp4 didn't expect is that they wear eyeliner in space, Because.. there are these corporations in space that on a galactic level won't let women be who they are, and they impose unreasonable bodily archetypes that even super-beings could not match.

I mean, it really just tells you how powerful cosmetics corporations are, women aren't allowed to Be-Old, ugly women are worthless, Silver-Surfer, 1 rung removed from Galactus still under-the-eye not measuring up to impossible beauty standards?

I love Julia Garner, she is a fantastic(heh) actress, but I think they made a misstep(heh) not going with Norman Radd as the first iteration.
He is SUCH A GREAT CHARACTER and Shella is nowhere near as interesting or quotable.
I'd be OK with the character switch if they gave her SS's personality, but they didn't even bother

I think the FF movie was overall too predictable, safe, and boring. Like Marvel for 15 years ago, you need to be more interesting now, the audience expects End Game level of dynamic plot now.

A real return to form for the series, it felt like old school Sunny from a decade ago.
The show has been on for 20 years, insane. But good **** this week.

Overall the movie's baby = important premise was poorly conceived.

It's not like Galactus was going to eat-the-baby.

What is the "Value" of "Earth".

What is the "Value" of an "Internship" with "Galactus."

Like seriously,  What could the fantastic "Family" possibly have to offer the kiddo that would COMPARE with a Cosmic entity.

EVEN if we take this more "Realistically"  Kids grow up in say 30 years. OK,  Just tell Galactus, be like,  Hey ok, look 30 years,  Let's wait at least that long, then he can join your club.

Like, you think Galactus would care about 30 years, when he's lived for BILLIONS. Kid grows up, same as anyone would, JOINS-Galactus,  like seriously, it's like being mentored by GOD,  what could Mr.Mrs. Fantastic possibly want more for their child, than to be Mentored by GOD. I'm waiting, name 1 outcome that could be "better" by "any metric in the known/unknown multiverse."

The whole plot is just watery.

Thunderbolts felt like a Disney+ made-for-streaming movie. Where was the budget? It felt a bit contrived and forced, although I get that was kinda the idea at the end. I wonder if they tweaked the ending in a way to get underwhelmed audiences to accept the rest of the film's presentation? None of the acting particularly blew me away, I never liked Florence Pugh, the main characters were all basically the same character.
If one of the characters were an alien or monster it would've been more interesting to me, it just felt too 'military' and not enough fantastical superhero stuff.

Next time I'd like to see one of the more interesting Thunderbolt teams with Penance, Venom, and Norman Osborn

dat new, Alien Earth,  tv show.

Um... It's,  Tp4 not liking the unnecessary chop up for "reveal" purposes. It's not good or bad, so far, mostly a jumble of common syfi tropes.

Mmmmmmm.. reserve judgment, holding pattern.

We've all watched this type of arc a million times, so there's really no reason to Make a mystery where there isn't one.

This was a big mis-step. To turn this around, they'd need a clever twist, which would be difficult because it'd probably fall short and just seem absurd.

In the Hands of Dante, yea.. this crap would've worked in shakespeare days,  like shakespeare did.

But it's drivel, self congratulatory trash made to appeal to art school morons.

I have several bird feeders set up, and there has been one small female ruby-throated visiting the hummingbird feeder all summer.

About this time each year several more start hanging around, and they are very aggressive and territorial in chasing each other away. For a while a smaller male was in charge, and he had just a small pink patch on his chin. But now there is a larger male with a huge red patch and he is the current boss.

You can see them fattening up for their trip south, it is surprising to see hummingbirds bulking up!

Today, a wasp has shown up at the feeder and he can successfully chase away even the big male. I have never witnessed that before.
Michael Wolff says he urged Epstein to release information he had on Trump, but Epstein appeared worried about what Trump would do to him.
Epstein told him, “I may be a pervert, but I’m not crazy.” Epstein continued, "Trump is a man without any scruples.”

Scientists have painted bird chest marks darker using felt markers. They've noticed that the simple cosmetic change caused the bird itself AND those around it to conform to the new artificial standard, as if the felt marked bird IS in fact the dominant male.

So, if we look at today's society, it's full of birds wearing fake markers.

We've completely hijacked the signaling system such that Our Appearance and Cultural norms are Entirely-Synthetic, and NO LONGER reflect true-biomarkers of health / genetic truism.

For example, Hypothetically, a Human female who is genetically Buxom, produced more and/or higher quality milk, leads to more rapid/ higher development of early brain function/growth rates in babies fed by her.   THIS FEMALE would be genetically selected for.

But, now when you've inserted Silicone Implants into the genetic marketplace, the Males are entranced by genetically inferior females who produce mentally less developed babies.

So, this process leads to the idiocracy situation, where Vanity driven aesthetics REPLACE genetic sexual selection.

There are numerous second order effects. For example, Say the wife is a 5, you would only mate n(5) so often, producing so many children during one's bout of monogamy. That rate is natural, representative of the genetic value of that relationship.

Now, the Wife gets silicone implants, and the male decides, n(7), suddenly the lifelong production of children increases at an UNNATURAL rate, which does NOT reflect the genetic value of that relationship.

Society, then enters dis-regulation, over-producing uncharacteristic/ unnecessary member traits.   This is ROT,  This is Behavioral Sink.

Just like Calhoun's mice which all died in the utopia they've been given.
