You should've gone with a pcie ssd riser card, and used the x16 slot with x4 bandwidth to get pcie2.0x4 which is still 1.5gb/s and supports all the usually ssd stuff.

but probably today, but then maybe not.

Having experienced traffic in New Jersey firsthand, I can believe it.

Thank god he is not dead. His truck went dark during a big rain cloud.

Like, the cables are not white, they're purple. More violet than purple, a very gawdy lifelessly toxic kind of white.

Tp4 is looking for a near beige, regal kind of white. The white of the snow that covers a recently storm broken tree trunk.

The total deep clean and rebuild took 14hrs. Exponentially less time than it would've taken to build it new, but MUCH less money.

I'm a little upset I cannot get my 4x32Gb to work on the Sabertooth Z77, everything I read said 32Gb was totally possible with the latest BIOS update. LIES! I can only get 16Gb to post without the MEMOK going red

Temps are on average 40-50°F cooler across all cores (how is that in C 4.4-10°? is that correct? seems like a weird gap, crazy Europeans)

This is a huge problem even culturally.  The uneducated masses will prefer the trashy whites, because they have little reference other than that it's an unlikely color, therefore desirable.

Real purples can be dramatic and beautiful, but those puce/puke off-white non-lavenders really are dreadful.

Sup guys, it's been a while!

Looking to build a new rig, with these as the core components:

https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007086/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d,-msi-x870e-p-pro-wifi,-gskill-flare-x5-series-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle

Swapping the GSkill for Corsair VENGEANCE RGB, with the plan to get an MSI VENTUS RTX 5070 Ti as the GPU. Probably a 1TB Samsung 9100 PRO for the OS and a cheaper 4TB NVMe for storage.

Any other recommendations? PSU/cooler/case?

No, bad build.

Get the 9700x $460 upgraded motherboard bundle. That motherboard is good for future zen6 upgrades.

The 9800x3d makes minimal difference unless you play esports at 720p. You can get it if you're RICH.

Anything 1440p and above, you're GPU bound. 9800x3d price difference can be put towards GPU

There are PNY 5080 going for $1000 at bestbuy now and then, get that instead of the 5070ti.

The 9700x is more than enough for now, and ZEN 6 is going to be 7.4-7.8GHZ  it will absolutely surpass the 9800x3d.

1TB is not enough.  You want 4TB WD 7100. OR wait for sale and get a 4TB with Dram, like SN850x for $205 used.

Tp4 just got one, 0 writes, brand new amazon return.

PSU lasts a long time, would go for the best, like LEADEX VII XG 850 or 1000.  Most stable voltage regulation and ripple suppression. They have a history of low-coil-whine due to very strong leadex platform. Not all leadex are the same, VII is what you want.

All gpus have coil whine, but really Bad coil whine is mostly due to PSU.

Cards in general is a minefield amazon or not.

Used SSDs that are NOT samsung are ok. Samsung has the most faker write data smurfing.

Memory is ok usually, as long as they haven't been thrown in a bin where the chips crack.

You want Amazon for motherboards for the easy return policy. Newegg is terrible regarding bent pins.  It's a high warranty item that can be put back on the shelf.

You want an authorized dealer for your SSD, particularly Samsung, same with GPU because Amazon will sell foreign market models and reject your warranty. Well, not reject but make you do the warranty overseas which is tough if you don't speak the language. I do buy Crucial drives from Amazon.

On my last system I bought my GPU local and the rest from Amazon (no ssd).

I had one super bent pin on the used mobo I just swapped into. Tried bending it back and it snapped like an old dry hair. I clipped a pin off my old P867, VERY carefully at the base, and used a pinhole attachment for my heatgun to loosen the solder around the broken one just barely enough to where it was pliable and with extreme frustration and infinite patience, was able to hold the doner pin long enough to solidify. I seated the cpu and prayed - and it posted! The process took nearly 2hrs, and most of that was trying to figure out a way to get the doner pin to stand up in it's new home. NEVER again.

I think it is permanent, if the cpu is ever removed it will destroy the socket
