Not only dealing with this ear infection, but now I apparently have sciatica as well. I'm falling apart, I tell you.

Would you like to buy life insurance ?

FWIW the over the road visitors left before 10pm, and the screaming scouts stopped around 9:30, so I was actually able to get some sleep.

What's bothering me now, apart from the dog over the road barking all the time (at 9pm grrrrrrr) is the forecast for the rest of the week.  Saturday is not looking good ...

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I actually came across a sign today about an hours south on a really nice beach which said please do not feed the crocodiles in multiple languages. I thought that not feeding the crocodiles would be common sense, apparently not.

"No Swimming" would have said the same thing in fewer words.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Yesterday I found out the trip insurance my purchased for an event only causes items such as death and your home burning to the ground. Long story short I'm out $500 for not being able to go due to work/school. What makes it even worse is they waited until a week after the event to inform me. So I wasn't able to resell the tickets.

Merry Christmas :D

Weather warnings for heavy snowfall and freezing rain. Freezing rain has been pouring down since last night, and now we're supposed to get 20cm-30cm of snow.

Some good friends of ours are getting divorced.  The wife seems to think everyone is against her.  They went to several therapists, and she wouldn't go back to any of them.  He's willing to do anything to keep it together, never any infidelity or anything.  They have 6 kids.  The court awarded her so much child support that he can't afford to support them and live on his own.  He's got a good job but is probably going to have to live in someone's basement or something.  It's a freaking mess.

That's really unfortunate. I have known a few people that have ended up in similar scenarios. Hope everything works out for him.

No day off in weeks. Sleep debt growing endlessly. Other attorneys in my group are all in the middle of a trial. My tired/noob ass is holding down the fort.

Frazzled. Ragged. Scattered.

Good luck!!!!!

Doesn't really bother me that much but when people have the same avatars it messes me up haha. I usually just take a quick glance at the avatar to see who posted, having to check the names now.

Well its official for the first time in ~6 years I'm being told not to come to work for a couple weeks.  :-\
Do you work for the government? My dad worked for the state and every few years when they needed to cut the budget he got some mandatory time off (unpaid, but he could use his vacation, iirc).

Hrrrmm.......  I guess it's time to party..  or idk,  buy some paint,  and huddle up with some bob-ross videos for a month..

You'd get so good at them landscapes.

I can honestly say I would never have considered doing this.  :))

someone already did that a few years before :P

Amazon Prime doesn't deliver to any place I'm currently staying in. I just wanted to have someone deliver me a ton of Ben and Jerry's like demik... :(

Prime Now only do four flavours of B&J in my area and they are all average...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
