Had that happen to me twice last year. Both times, the package made it to my local post office, only to be shipped hundreds of miles away before returning.

Yeah I didn't care for it at first because it's almost a waste of space but it's growing on me.

Yeah, that bathroom is definitely bigger than my bedroom growing up.  And probably equal to my dorm room in college that I shared with another person.

I don't even have to spin around in mine - I can just reach out my arms!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Felt tired. Went to bed before midnight. It's 3am and I'm awake.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I was 0.74 points out of 60 away from passing my Calculus class because a C is required for my major. My professor doesn't curve, no homework points, and no quizzes but only 3 exams and a final. I clowned on the first exam but did much better in the second and third but ended up not doing so good on the final because it was much harder than expected. I'm going to see my professor tomorrow morning, I'm sure I can find something on my exam to argue for 0.74 points haha. I had a 76% in the class and dropped to a 69.3% after the final. Other than that I got a 100% on my Physics exam.

I'm keeping high hopes about the situation. I've never been absent to one class, worked diligently, and showed improvement throughout the year(until the end). I kind of shot myself in the foot taking a very busy schedule my first semester with Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Microeconomics, and Ancient Warfare(which I thought would be a joke class lol). My brother took the same schedule his freshman year and got a 4.0, I can't even compete.

Never learn.

Going to sleep early is a terrible idea. I've been up since 1 and have work in a few hours. :(

I've had packages end up delivered at the wrong mail box once or twice. I literally had to walk up to a neighbor's porch once to get my package off their doorstep because it wasn't theirs. :P

This has happened with both USPS and UPS! I've also had neighbor's packages in my mail before. I walked aaaall the way down the street just to put it in their mailbox, haha.

If anything keyboard related ended up in the wrong mail box, especially something small (like that DTA clack, for instance), which would undoubtably be thought of as a worthless trinket. I would die. Right there. Dead.

C'mon, youspse and oops, get it together!

We had to replace our 5-year-old TV. I thought it was a 42", so we got a 43". After taking the new one out the box, I knew something was off so I brought a measuring tape. Turns out our old one is a 46".
Even though the new one has all the modern specs, it's gonna bug me to no end that it's a few inches smaller.

****, I got my LCD TV in late 2010. So it's just about 5 years old for me too. It's still going strong, but I probably should upgrade sometime in the near future.

The average replacement cycle for TVs used to be 8 years. That's been shrinking the past ten years or so though (and not because TVs die after 8 years or less - they typically don't, even with the 'shorter' life of an LCD). My current TV is approximately 5 years old, and I'm still happy with it (60"); only thing I wish it had was lighting zones, but 5 years ago, large TVs with lighting zones were noticeably more expensive. I'd buy a 4k TV if it was time to replace, but I figure I still have a couple years easy out of my current TV.

I think the disposable nature of mobile electronics is unfortunately bleeding over into other areas. Its a mindset that's completely unnecessary in the TV market. Hell, its not nearly as 'necessary' as people make it out to be in the mobile market.

I was absolutely fine using CRT TVs for years, up until the tubes all started going out on mine. It was perfect for me, since they work great for retro and rhythm gaming, which I was really into at the time. It wasn't until 2010 that I got fed up with every CRT I got to replace the previous one. They all started going out on me after a while. :(

Yeah, I'm not even much a fan of the mobile phone trends to upgrade to the latest and greatest smartphone EVERY YEAR. I know there are plans that make the process a lot easier, but I'm not a big fan of contracts.

Lighting zones though? What's the difference between, say, that and an LCD TV that doesn't have lighting zones?

Eh, if you don't have to replace it then don't. We had to replace ours because the screen kept shutting off even though the sound was fine. I looked it up and found it's a common problem with our model, so we thought to replace it altogether.

Even though the picture is considerably sharper and crisper than our old TV, I can still notice the size difference while my wife thinks it's fine. >:(

Our contract is up soon and my wife already is deciding which phone to get. She asked me what I was going to get and I said I'm perfectly fine with my S5. It runs well and I can upgrade the battery and storage, so I don't plan on upgrading unless this one is no longer functional.

Lighting Zones are cool, enable darker areas on screen. So, for example, lets say you have an edge lit, or back lit LCD. All the pixels are lit all the time, even pixels that are 'turned off' or black, still have the backlighting applied.

With lighting zones, you have X number (depending on quality of the TV) of backlit areas that can actually turn off or dim the amount of light, depending on what's on screen. So let's see a corner of the picture is all shadow. That zone can be dimmed 50% or 75% or whatever, while the other zones can operate at normal lighting. Gives you noticeably larger dynamic range for lighting. So dark areas aren't washed out anymore.
