Isn't "10" two keys though? These keyboard terms are so confusing.

what happen
Needle?

Well...

Replaced the belt as I had mentioned somewhere around here, and I had thought that fixed it, as the first time I tested it, it played fine. Well the same issue started cropping up again, it seemed like the belt was slipping, but in reality it's the motor that kept stuttering. So I talked with LSB (as he has the same SpeedBox as me), and he agreed to try the original power supply for the TT. I thought I knew where it was, however I think it's back at my parents house.

Anyhow, I checked the specs of the OEM Power Supply, and lo-and-behold, the Power Supply for the Speedbox is the same specs and plug. So I plug that directly into the TT, and it spins beautifully! No more stuttering, I can make it through a whole record no problem. I took apart the Speedbox shortly after, and confirmed it was bad, as it has a blown cap and what looks like 2 fried resistors.

Only issue(s) now are:
1. I can only get regular 33rpm LPs to play when the band is around the 45rpm spindle. If I place the band around the 33rpm spindle, the record plays too slow. I've double checked the instruction manual (which the image linked above is from), so I'm not sure what's causing this. Ironically, I also tried my Kid A 10", and that has to be played on the 33rpm spindle, otherwise it's too fast. dafuq
2. Ground loop in my current setup. All the components use power warts, so none of them have a proper ground. Need to figure out what to do here.

So at this point, I'm not exactly sure where to go. I need to locate the original power supply, but it shouldn't make a difference as this one has the same specs.

I'm in the world's most uncomfortable meeting. My boss is giving someone the business and watching this guy try to dig himself out of a hole is getting uncomfortable. Everything he says makes it worse, even if he is saying the right thing. 34 minutes in, and it just keeps getting worse. I need to gtfo of here.  :blank:

1.) I said "business" not "bidness". Terms mean different things!
2.) In hell, demik, I work in hell.
3.) My boss loves to set people up to fail. He'll just keep asking the same question over and over again non stop. There is no winning and there is no end.

That is what modify post is for! I know you know how to use it. Like me you sneak in edits before the system catches them with a "modified" stamp.  ;)

Luckily I never post anything I wouldn't want seen. But I'm a terrible speller and don't pay enough attention. Then as soon as I hit post I'm like "OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE!". Always after I hit post tho. I could preview it for 5 minutes and re-read it over and over again and it'll look fine.

EDIT: I even did it on this post. :(

I just learned that a friend I am reasonably close to recently tried to commit suicide. Fortunately he failed in his attempt, but is still hospitalized.

**** man that's awful

sorry to hear that

It seems like more and more people are trying it these days..

I got a buddy who's tried it too.. sigh..............

I got ****ed out of a 1st place award for a presentation of my research because not enough judges showed up.  I got highest marks on the entire rubric, and the only thing that differed with the other people who placed was the number of judges that heard them.  ****ing bull****.  I could use that money and CV fodder.

What kind of research were you looking to present?

I'm a chemist PhD student.  I was presenting my work on Development of a Networked Sensor Array for Gas Microseepage Detection Near Injection Well Sites.

Are you guys having a bright future regarding the job market in the US?
I'm currently working on the masters and I am thinking about quitting because the
job situation is horrendous.

The job market is very election dependent sadly.  Some of our funding sources tried to refuse to pay because they thought it was a republican lock - meaning that our global warming related research would be the first to go.  I don't really pay attention to the job market though.  I'm more concerned about research and going into academia.  I've done industry before and it wasn't for me.

our global warming related research would be the first to go.

I am bothered about when the Arctic tundra lets out that gigantic belch of methane and all the rest of it accelerates in a big whoosh.

But it may take half of Oklahoma City being swallowed up in a sinkhole to get climate the deniers' attention.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."
