So recently purchased a full skateboard (old school 80's type).
Had thought about just having it as a display piece but ended up reminiscing waaaay too much and thought i'd get back in the saddle. ><'
I'd spent the last couple weekends in the backyard trying to get my balance back and the general feel.
This weekend I thought I had it all down so I made a trek to the local skate park. yeeeaaahh...
So I use the ramp to get in, so far so good.
Not going up real high cuz I'm still trying to get my bearings. I got a little cocky and thought I'd go higher. Nailed the first transition, go me!
I didn't see the next one coming and I totally wipeout.
Not entirely sure what happened, but it felt like I launched the board forward and somehow spun so that my feet were above me and barely had time to put my hands out in front of me.
I hit the concrete loudly, albeit with my hands.
I didn't feel much aside from the sting in my hands, so I got back up and skated some more, staying low
On the drive back, I started to ache in the general chest area. It feels like one of my ribs is slightly protruding if that makes sense.
If you were to split me down the middle, the right side feels even while the left side has a bump. It's right in the center of my chest.
Hurt like a mother on Sunday. Not as bad on Monday. Today it's just an uncomfortable ache.
The bump is still there...
But had fun skating!
