Oh it doesnt end after high school unfortunately. Just recently I was dating a girl I knew from High School. She's a nursing major now. Went on a bunch of dates and then boom. Apparently too busy. I'm skeptical if that was the actual reason but who knows.

I'm going to add obnoxious loud as hell kids at the hotel I'm staying at to the list.

Oh, and how everyone fancies themselves an "artisan" these days but isn't willing to do any research or invest in money and experiment with materials first and just expects people who have invested a ton of money into it to tell them how to do it.  That may mainly be an r/mk thing though.

That sounds borderline scary as ****.

I think they're going to have to numb my thumb and cut off that flap.

It's not as bad as it sounds, the saw was already winding down when it happened. It's like the size of a quarter now but the doctor said it practically scratched the surface of some artery.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

It's an electric on-demand system that was put in this building, idk why, my old flat had a standard gas boiler that was much better and insta gave you hot water, but this electric system has to heat a tank of water first... it's the one actual down side of an otherwise brilliant flat.

My health insurance is changing to be much worse...  From "1k max out of pocket and 0% co-insurance" to a 8k out of pocket and 50% co-insurance, And look at that, still cost me MORE money. Love you 'merica.

I also am going to be paying a doctor to basically break my nose and put it back together. So thats fun.

Don't worry, you'll still be able to get 15lbs of candy for $3.99.

Waiting to see when my city starts putting out the Christmas decorations. Last year, overnight, they were promptly up on Nov. 1st. It's not the holidays until the fat man himself finishes the JCPenney Thanksgiving parade...

People who sperg out when I don't take my hat off to eat. Do you stand every time a lady gets up to go to the bathroom? Shut up.

A professor who requires you to buy an obscenely overpriced "clicker" device (sold for $50 at the campus store; you can order it for closer to $30, but of course it won't arrive on time). It's a little plastic remote with metal dome switches and an RF transmitter and they're selling it for that much. Okay professor, it saves you a little time, but you're costing your class several thousand dollars and we're all broke already. Just find a student or two to grade your short weekly quizzes.

Or maybe my university is being paid off by the crooks who produce these things.

No, mine is called "ResponseCard". It is pretty bad. Selling a hunk of the cheapest components you could find on Alibaba to students that need them to complete a course at 1500% markup (where the price can be doubled again for retail) is one of the nastier sides of capitalism.

People who sperg out when I don't take my hat off to eat.

Men wearing hats indoors has always been a pet annoyance of mine. I don't know why. Also men wearing jewelry.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Like watches? Or is it just non functional pieces that you don't like?
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

Edit: Kinda throwing the derailing statement here....  but it hit me.
What's funny is I do like the band "Men Without Hats".  Especially the US version of "Rhythm of Youth".  It's kinda hard to find.  Good thing I have it on Vinyl and CD!

"Decorations" have always seemed pretty effeminate to me. But I am an old man, and I grew up around men who did not do that.

I wore a watch in high school, and maybe a little beyond, but there are clocks everywhere, indoors and in cars, at least. And since the early 1990s I have had a pager or cell phone and that displays the time, so why carry around yet another device that costs money and can break?

I've always seen people with watches and bracelets so it's just normal for me. Also watches look good.

my cell phone is much more likely to break than my watch

You sound like my dad. Real quick to comment on people wearing hats indoors, but he does plenty of things that actually offend people - like for real reasons other than "they shouldn't wear hats" (wtf?).

And re:watches, my phone tells me the time but my watch doesn't die after a day of use. Taking a phone camping = no idea what time it is.

Hats indoors is a politeness thing.

And I'm going to be a hypocrite since I have a nose ring, but jewelry (necklaces or earrings) on guys tend to be a douchebag/neckbeard alarm to me.  95% of the people with those down here are bros, wannabe thugs, frat asses, or sunlight shunners.
