It was ok when it was just Sifo, I just wouldn't read things with his avatar on the screen to distract my eyespheres.  But this new trend of making everything blink and jiggle is turning the clocks back to a late 90's HTMheLlhole.

Take drugs for a few days and then keep the area very clean for a while.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Professor **** all over my paper and assignment.  Said and I quote, "...some of the worst writing I've ever seen and you should be ashamed to submit this in a Master's course.  Please reconsider going back to undergrad to brush up."  When I asked her for reasons as to why she graded it so harshly, all she could say was, "If you can't see what's wrong, I can't help you.  Everything was terrible."  Apparently, I just received all my other degrees through sheer magic and wizardry.  I must be Harry ****ing Potter.

People who treat a broken double yellow line center divider as a merge lane instead of merging into traffic when they have time to safely getting up to speed in a lane.  I can't tell you how many times I've almost been in an accident or seen an accident because someone treats it like a merge lane.

If it makes you feel better I had a professor in grad school literally start laughing at me when I was discussing a paper I wanted to write and the theory behind it.  It was a criminology course and I was citing Jean Baudrillard's "Photography or the Writing of Light" and some of John Dewey's less popular works. Other professors loved the idea and thought the paper and what it proposed was brilliant.

In other words, some professors, especially at the graduate levels, are ****ing *******s.  I've noticed that some universities have a very toxic culture unless you find the right professors to align yourself with and unless you kiss the asses of others and tailor papers to their myopic perspectives.  Have a professor you respect read over it and tell you what they think.  If they can give criticisms to help it be better, awesome.  If they think it's great, well, you discovered that that professor who criticized it is just an ******* and learned to avoid them in the future.

That actually does make me feel better, nubs.  Thanks.  I'm still kind of heated right now and pissed off but having another professor go over it is a great idea.  I'm thinking that this professor is just a total *****, though.  Several of my classmates are also incredibly fed up with her grading.  It probably doesn't help that she holds more PhD's than anyone I know and she loves rubbing that in our faces.

With Nubs on this one.  The more PhD's, usually the worse they are.  I had a professor give me a D on a final because I finished too fast (didn't matter that I filled an entire test note book in under 30 minutes - I had the topic aced and flew through it).  I tried to dispute it, but he was the head of the department and there was nowhere else to go.

Is she an older professor (60s or 70s)?  I know a lot of older female professors in certain fields (less so the social sciences) had a very difficult time of it themselves in grad school so they can come off as *******s since they feel like they have to constantly be proving themselves and fighting off those who doubt them.  Part of that can be being overly harsh on others even if they do respect the person's work.

I know sometimes I had professors who I had to go back and ask to hear something from their perspective and to have them try to explain things to me in a different way since we had fundamental differences in communication and understanding that made it difficult for us to get each other.

Chances are she's just *****y, but there could be something else underlying it that might help you in the future.

She's in her 50's.  I spent about half an hour with her politely trying to ask her to explain to me what the issue was.  I told her I'd like to have a better understanding of my grade so that I can improve on the next assignment.  All I got was, "If you can't figure it out, I can't help you."  That's literally the answer she kept rehashing.  /facedesk

Did 20 miles a day on the stationary bike from Sunday til Friday. Cannot walk today. I literally need a wheelchair. Really wish I didn't destroy my knees, ankles, and hips skateboarding and snowboarding in my youth.

And I only have tylenol to take because anti-inflammatories burn my digestive tract.

Someone come carry me around like Hodor.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

You have my deepest sympathy.

I have had both big toenails removed several times each due to ingrowing toenails.

Fortunately I seem to have grown out of that affliction now, but I do have a tendency to seek out steel cap boots whenever I can.

If you guys are prone to this,, Wear shoes that are wider around the front..

Because if you look at your feet,  the front toes naturally spread out when you move your weight forward..

Many shoes don't allow this movement, and instead squeezes your toes together.

That my CASUAL job at a fast food place is changing me over to a permanent part-time contract (effective as of this past monday, as I've been told, even though I haven't signed anything yet) so they can pay me an even lower minimum wage :'(

The reasoning they tried to use is just stupid... "It's a sign of us trusting you and you trusting us so that we can have a better relationship."

Like for real? I work 1-3 shifts a week at ~4 hours each, that's hardly part-time. Now when I find another job that I can work around my uni schedule I'll have to give two weeks' notice to leave.

It's one thing to give a low grade with justifiable cause, but this just seems ridiculous. Isn't there some recourse for this kind of thing, like a review process involving outside parties or something?

College is a ****ty system. Unless you're in a major specific class doing research it's obvious the prof doesn't want to be there so they'll just waste your time because it's a waste of theirs.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Random pains everywhere.

I fell pretty hard the other weekend mountain biking and my right hip is killing ever since.

I got 23years old (yeeeeeeeee) rheumatisms on my left hip because I discolated it a few years ago, and it really is painfull those days.

And for some reason my right knee is acting up too.

I'm not even out of shape since I exercise regularly...

Also I have 3 fingertips on my right hand that are weird as **** ever since I stabbed myself with a gateron switch....

try riding a stationary bike for a month or two before you go back to hard core -high impact- stuff.

Remember,  you're more in danger when it comes to working out because of your higher body weight.

I need to get a standing desk and a stationary bike so I can use my computer and exercise.  So expensive for both though :(

nah....  just get a regular stationary bike to put at home,  and do the 25minutes before it-all..

Then you can sit comfy the rest of the day knowing you're not gonna get Super-Phat..

Getting your workout early is very effective, because it raises your metabolism Throughout the day..

I did a lot of stationary a few years ago, I eneded up with bigass calves that I still haven't lost those days. Can't fit into slim jeans lmao.

B.ball and ski probably won't fit into your "hard core -high impact- stuff".

The fact that I decide to watch the U.S. vs Mexico game in English (I usually watch it in Spanish since it's a not more entertaining).

The English casters are boring and if anything happens, it's either giving credit to the U.S. Players, or focusing on the faults of the Mexican players. So they're just bias.

I already hate the U.S. Players for how dirty they play, especially against Mexico. Of course, Mexico isn't playing like angles either, but not as bad as the U.S. Mexico is of course the ones who get the yellow cards but takes multiple fouls for the U.S. to get one.

I decide to go and finish the game in Spanish.

Automatically, I hear the casters talking about the bad pass a Mexican player just made.

They aren't bias and talk about the game and what is going on, even if it's in favor or against the Mexican team.

And then I hate that I can't dislike the U.S. team and like the Mexico team. I understand I'm Mexican, but I don't care who is playing against the U.S., I don't like their players and I will go against them no matter who they play against.

About to leave teh Motherland. Already nostalgic :(
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I found 2 loaded pistol mags in a guys bag at work today... With all the recent events, you'd think one would be a little more careful what they pack when entering a nuclear site...

Isn't there some sort of regulation that involves weapons? Even more so when working on a nuclear site? That seems like such an odd thing.

Oh yeah, there is a serious no ammunition, incendiary, alcohol and firearms... For whatever reason, this 6 year operator forgot he had loaded mags in a really small messenger bag...

Now don't get me wrong, we catch people with pistols about once every other year. It's always someone that travels doing outages, has a concealed carry and just happens to forgot it in a bag... which has never bothered me, but someone with no concealed carry...
No worry cause his badge is on hold and he has a lot of explaining to do before he gets it back... It's just the first time I've ever felt like something wasn't adding up... It's very strange...

The gun lobby says that it is important to have employees armed to defend against armed intruders.

In South Carolina, after the church shooting, one of the legislators wanted to introduce a bill requiring pastors to pack weapons in church so that they could defend their congregations.

The insanity has to stop somewhere.

Yeah... I get having armed and trained people to defend a nuclear site if someone attacks it, but arming teachers/preachers and so on... NAH...

I get having armed and trained people to defend a nuclear site if someone attacks it,

But it all spirals down into confusion.

Here in Georgia, they passed a "carry everywhere" law and idiot rednecks started parading through Target stores with loaded assault weapons. I am astonished that there weren't any robberies (at least ones that we heard about).

In these scenarios, how is it even possible to differentiate between "those who might attack" and "those who might defend" and, in particular, what about the employee with clearance who just happens to wake up cuckoo one day or has a fight with his boss?

The only rational answer is "no guns in public places" in my opinion. Out in the woods you are probably looking for a deer or a turkey, but on main street the only targets available are humans.
