It's worse when I met a cool girl tonight who thought I was funny and sent obvious signals, but I didn't realize it until I was walking away.

I liked not having to work lots, not having to clean/maintain a house, not having to shop for food...  In exchange for these things I now have to do all the time I don't get in trouble the few times a year I stay out later than I'm supposed to.  But if I were to get a SO like a good adult I'd get in trouble again!

What's so great about adulthood tp, I seem to have missed it.

You can also do it Sunday at 6am to get people nice and riled up before they head off to church.

Sure, but if you're paying someone to do the yard work have them come during the week like everyone else.

Well,, you'd have to find a female that lets you do all the things you want to do..   Put it in writing,  so there's no confusion later on..

The whole, marriage thing is designed for child rearing..   you're not giving up your freedoms for the female,   you're giving up your freedoms to raise children,  to reduce the risks to "their" safety..

^^^  I think most people who are getting married are Unclear as to its purpose..

If it's just You and -The-Girl-   ,  marriage means little more than a tax reduction..

My super inconsiderate neighbor decided 6:45 this morning was a great time to have the yard mowed.
I'm up at 4am-ish every morning. I'm ready to rock and do leafblowing by sun-up.

That really is pretty rude.

I try to pick up some extra ZZZs on the weekends and so do a lot of other people. Although I think that yard work is OK by about an hour after sun-up, it often takes me until 10:00-11:00 to get up the motivation and gumption to suit up and go outside to start creating dirt and noise myself.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

Hit myself in the balls rolling up an extension cord.

RIP
I feel bad saying this, but reading this totally made me laugh out loud. And while I was in a very serious meeting.

Wondering why you're surfing GH in a "very important" meeting ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hahahahahaha.....

We don't even get a tax reduction here, the only thing marriage is good for is claiming death benefits on my pension and I'm not even sure it's needed for that now (civil partnership agreement designed for gay couples probably covers it if you live together)

So ur saying..  soon  straight couples are going to fight for their right to a gay marriage.. despite being male-x-female..

Hit myself in the balls rolling up an extension cord.

RIP
I feel bad saying this, but reading this totally made me laugh out loud. And while I was in a very serious meeting.
Such behaviour in the USA is "grounds for immediate dismissal".

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

So I've now spent $60 for my wife to have three drinks and to pay for parking at two places. Standing elbow to elbow with 300 people now. What is the point of these places?
Hmmm, might as well buy a clack, ha ha!

Seriously though - just when you thought you don't have to do these anymore after marriage, they come in droves! I hate social gatherings too but it's harder to avoid them if the SO is so keen on them. My condolences.

No it's the other way - there was no gay marriage so they slackened the pension rules to accommodate same sex couples.  Now gay marriage is allowed here but I'm pretty sure the previous arrangement still stands.

You'd be proud of me. I was social from 8:30pm to 1am last night. And now I'm having dirty ****ing Eagles fans (my best friends) over to watch the game today. I'm a butterfly!
