I spent 30 minutes waiting for someone to cut fabric for me at Walmart.  I was a bit miffed, but I smiled through the whole ordeal.  The person that radioed the management commented on how nice I was the whole time and how that surprised her.

Then I lucked out when I went to the cashiers.  One was standing at the end, bored.  I went and put my stuff on the conveyor belt.

...only then did I realize that I picked the wrong one.  I always make an effort to avoid this autistic pile, but I wasn't paying attention.  As he scanned my items very slowly, he paused to clearly consider them for at least 20 seconds apiece.  He would then comment his personal opinion and make a judgement about my tastes - as if was ****ing asking him to.  The entire time, his scent of B.O. wafted towards me and embedded in my clothes.  I was informed that:

The frozen pizza I bought was a good deal for everything that was on it, but it had thin crust so it was gross.
Pomegranates are a terrible flavor for a 5 hour energy shot, and he didn't know why I picked them.
It doesn't make sense that a person would make a purchase of 4.338 yd. of fabric.
Those aren't his favorite kind of apples.

I just stood there, without my usual placid smile I reserve for the service industry.  I was stonefaced, not responding to his jibes.  In my head swirled thoughts about the things I would like to do with him and how I would dispose of the corpse.  The blood vessels in my head throbbed with wrath.

So I guess despite casually enduring what many patrons would have lost their **** over (can I get some service over here?), I was driven to the point of eternal rage by 5 minutes of interaction of a socially inept waste of organic tissue.  My eyes still hurt from the anger spasms.

Didn't know they sold fabric at walmart.

They only do in some stores.  I think it depends on the region demographic.  The selection isn't as great as somewhere like Hobby Lobby, but the prices are nice.  You know, choosing capitalism over jesus.

...only then did I realize that I picked the wrong one.

The stores where I shop regularly, I get to know the cashiers.

I choose a line based on the competence of the cashier, not on the length of the line.

That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.

Do you know your triggers?

My sister discovered that chocolate was one of hers, tragic, because she loves it. But after keeping a careful journal and really analyzing her behaviors and consumption, she has been nearly migraine-free for several years.

Recently, she got one after going to her favorite Mexican restaurant. She called the manager and asked whether they had changed the recipe for the mole sauce, and did they add chocolate? (previously, it had not been in there) He said no.

Later, he called her back, and said that he had talked to the chef who had actually verified that yes, they had added a small amount.

She goes to Jefferson Headache Center in Philly. Top place. They asked her about chocolate and told us it can both be a trigger and/or a craving that is caused by the onset of a migraine. In other words, if you are a person that doesn't love chocolate and just gets a crazy need to have some, it may be an early warning sign to take your meds. Turns out for her that it is the latter.

Her main trigger is stress. And our lives are full of it right now with the family health situation. Every time she hears drama from her **** of a sister she gets one... guaranteed. Both her migraine docs and psychiatrist (mainly hypnotherapy for headaches and some other relaxation practice) told her to just cut her off. I agree.
My wife I a also push her button . But now she have her button push by a different men. So I buy a keyboard a mechanicale, she a reliable like a Fiat.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I just had to explain, in painstaking detail, to our Consultant Security Architect how to use a host file, and how a host file works vs. DNS. Things like this make me lose all faith in people. How did he get the job he has?!? I had to show him how to ping something! I feel like I'm on some hidden camera show or something.

How long it's going to take to build a collection worth sharing and trading for. I'm brand new to the community and hobby, so I've just begun building my base. I just want jump right in head-first but I know I need to test the waters a little more :)

I guess my lack of patience is what's bothering me. All this pent up excitement, learning everything I can about keyboards and keycaps, looking at other people's collections, and waiting for stuff to arrive. Until I learn a little more and acquire a little more it will be difficult to participate in community discussions except on a very superficial level. But damn, am I excited for that moment.

In the meantime, I have to work on that wallet control.

You can either be patient and wait to win artisans in the various forms of buy that exists. Also keeping an eye out on mechmarket and classifieds is important, artisans often go on sale as people leave the hobby or are in need of cash.

Or you can simply get known as someone who pays stupid prices for artisans and you'll have offers coming your way.

Make friends apparently, and get to know people most of the trades happen via that route although I don't know how everyone knows each other as I have never really talked to anyone outside of here, but I would say thats the best way to get stuff make friends

I just had to explain, in painstaking detail, to our Consultant Security Architect how to use a host file, and how a host file works vs. DNS. Things like this make me lose all faith in people. How did he get the job he has?!? I had to show him how to ping something!
Solution:

1. Explain him SPF in detail
2. He dies
3. You take his position
..........................
4. PROFIT!!!!11111

What happens many times is people find out before people post publicly they are selling things then they PM them and ask to buy things, being friends really doesn't matter, although it is like when someone wins the lottery everyone is your friend then.

But to find out you need to know them before hand, otherwise you wouldn't find out so you still need to be their friend also lol at the fact this just reaffirms their is a inner circle :X

when someone BEGS you to trade their "endgame" cap out of your collection, only to discover it has been sold for profit behind the scenes

ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh, freakin' wellllllllllllll.

UGGHHHHH I feel ya bro...  :(

That feeling of finding out someone sold your gift.  It is not pleasant.  :|  Can't even imagine if they begged and said it was their "endgame".  :-/

Honestly, I think the best thing to do with artisans is to take a step back and wait to dive in until you've been around a little bit.  It's really easy to get in too far, especially if you're new and everything looks amazing, but you'll find that over time most people manage to acquire artisans from sales if they wait long enough.  I know not everyone can commit themselves to this hobby for that long, and sometimes people just want to enjoy their keyboard offline without the mess of interacting with us weirdos, but I think this is the approach that will result in the least salt possible.  :P

I really just feel disgusted people can scam in this community, you know? There's a lot of love in the community and we all have common interests in mind, but some  take selfish and exploitative interests. For someone to beg someone to sell them a cap because it's "endgame" for them only to sell it is absolute BS.

It bothers me even more because I have legit excitement that echos the kind these scammers feign, luckily not with artisans, but with certain parts for a complete build and concept I have in mind. So to know there are people out there who do this just to get over on people is pretty bothersome... But, what should ya expect? We're all human.
