Naaaaaaaaaaaah, it's pretty pointless. Circlejerk may have involved Fallout 4 though.

I wish USPS would bring back first-class printing online. They only do priority now. You can do this through Paypal but they only recognize actual packages/big envelopes, not small envelopes like mine. This week they will not like me...oh well

****ing hate old people, ****ing guilt tripping ****s

In my opinion, 3 different things can happen when people get old:

(1) if they are open-minded and continue to learn and grow, they improve like wine or cheese and become wise and helpful

(2) if they are closed-minded and do not change and learn and grow, they become angry and sick, then they putrefy and rot, even as they continue to shuffle around and consume food

(3) they can simply fade away

"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

I think I fall into this camp somewhat.  I just can't get excited anymore.. This morning I was sifting through some old ASCII art and listening to music generated from older computers - and thinking to myself - I am not liking the future very much.

I guess I can grow - I'm just not sure what I should grow into.

they improve like wine or cheese and become wise and helpful
and slow and weak and in pain.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

So the Saturday delivery guy is different from the rest of the week delivery woman (who is amazing and super helpful, I should say). I have left packages for them to pick up with a note in the mailbox reading: "Please pick up package at front door, thanks!"

...And they leave any packages on my back doorstep and never pick up the package(s) at the front door.

I'm not sure if being able to read is a required prerequisite to work for the United States Postal Service.

I also find that package pickup requests are so hit or miss for me, most of the time I dont' think they even check

My three major aches: package pickups, different drivers all the time, and they're holding on to my og dyesubs and og dolch right now!

Thankfully I have some sort of relationship with at least one worker at my branch, cool guy. Mgmt is bad tho.

btw your package went out today :>

...And they leave any packages on my back doorstep and never pick up the package(s) at the front door.

Sorry to hear!  :-X

Great to hear! :D

I feel like the local post office is actually one of the best I've dealt with, it's only that one Saturday delivery dude that's a little dense.

Otherwise, I really have no complaints! There might've been a package delivered to the wrong address, but I think that was UPS.

I agree. My local Post Office does an outstanding job for me.

My only complaint is that there is often too little help at the desk, and some of them are painfully slow, but if I can manage to go at an odd time, it isn't too bad.

So is the USPS a government agency or not?  Seems like people say both.

Mine does too.  I feel like it's highly contingent upon the post office though.  Some of my local ones are awesome, some are awful.

So is the USPS a government agency or not?  Seems like people say both.

It is a unique independent agency chartered under the Constitution but mostly cut free in the 1970s.

It's pretty damn awesome if you ever read about it - the USPS runs solely on revenue from their operations and doesn't use US tax dollars  :)

The closest post office to me is about 2 minutes away, but they wont take packages if they can't be delivered. This means my packages either go to the post office 20 minutes away where  I can't get there after work or the post office 10 minutes away where I can get there after work but can't get a parking spot before they close. It annoys me that the post office 2 minutes away from me can refuse to take my packages but I guess that is what you get in Australia where I believe it is a franchise system (not sure though). I guess in the end it works against them as if I have to post something I purposely skip the post office 2 minutes away and take my business to the post office 10 minutes away.

Well,  clearly they don't need your business if they refuse your packages..
