Well I missed out on GH drama and now there's Dota drama. The Geekhack drama seems like more fun tbh...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I took some medicine to help me sleep. Got into bed, all nice and cozy. Ready for slumber. Then, just as I was ready to drift off, I got called from work. I'm basically sleep drunk and trying to troubleshoot authentication issues.

b***a is an eBay user who throws $5000 at every single keyboard he sees, so one day when we've moved on to some other input medium he can build a big burnpile and rid the world of keyboards forever.

b***a is perhaps the event horizon of an international cult that believes the common man does not deserve to own vintage electronics. Keyboards that pass him (it?) are never seen again.

Amazon has RuPaul's Drag Race season's 4-6 on Prime, but not 1-3 or 7.

Yea.

I had to download S1, which the lighting in that season is HORRIBLE. But at least it was the Re-run where RuPaul does a bit of commentary randomly.

And 7 is on Hulu I believe.

But still, the inconvenience of having to run around to watch those seasons

i'm slightly bothered because i got my highly anticipated new pc parts and monitor delivered to work but there's so much to carry that it take me two trips to get it all home (no car). plus I'm going out to dinner tonight so I can't really bring anything along with me tonight anyway..

They did a GB for shirts with 60 boards with different keysets. But Ray doesn't need one since he has had a Model M tattooed across his chest since the late 90's. Amirite Ray?

I only have every series up until the 4xxx.

So all of mine are delid via the hammer/vice method.

The difference in temperature is between 10-25 Celsius, which is pretty big, especially considering how small the die is.

So, if you intend to go all the way with the Overclock.

Ur gonna need the Delid tool.. Liquid Pro (special thermalpaste).. and a small felt polishing wheel.

what about the razor technique?

i have a polishing wheel (dremel attachment, maybe too fast lol), and some Noctua NT-H1, unless you're talking about a real specific paste for this

uh no, no I haven't. first time I've heard of it actually

edit: looking into it, looks a little scary but wow it makes such a difference and would really help with oc'ing here with australia's high temps

very interesting, thx

have you done it yourself?

I only have every series up until the 4xxx.

So all of mine are delid via the hammer/vice method.

The difference in temperature is between 10-25 Celsius, which is pretty big, especially considering how small the die is.

So, if you intend to go all the way with the Overclock.

Ur gonna need the Delid tool.. Liquid Pro (special thermalpaste).. and a small felt polishing wheel.

what about the razor technique?

i have a polishing wheel (dremel attachment, maybe too fast lol), and some Noctua NT-H1, unless you're talking about a real specific paste for this

after you delid, you have to have liquid pro,  you will be putting the ihs (the lid you cut off) BACK ONTO the die.

The purpose of the delid is to reduce the distance between the ihs and the die (over time), and improve contact.

I've tried numerous pastes,  they all squeeze out eventually. liquid pro or liquid ultra is the only paste that will stay in place.

Any other cooling paste will get squeezed out from between the IHS and the Die, because the two surfaces are too smooth..

you HAVE TO HAVE liquid pro.

liquid ultra is ok too, but liquid pro is easier to put on.

Also, tape off those copper contacts under the ihs.

The polishing wheel is to remove the black rubber glue after you delid.

apparently the new area I live in is going to add $350 to my car insurance premium despite having a lock up garage wtf

you're in the ghetto now. the back streets.

i'm slightly bothered because i got my highly anticipated new pc parts and monitor delivered to work but there's so much to carry that it take me two trips to get it all home (no car). plus I'm going out to dinner tonight so I can't really bring anything along with me tonight anyway..

i miss the north shore with its nonexistent crime lol

oh man that sucks - what did you get?

i5 6600K
GTX 970
16gb DDR4
256gb SSD
etc
+ 144hz 1ms monitor

Did you buy the delid tool ?

Ur gonna need the delid tool for the 6xxx series cpus.. too fragile to go at with the hammer/vice method.

Amazon has RuPaul's Drag Race season's 4-6 on Prime, but not 1-3 or 7.

The real crime is that Prime has season 4 of RPDR but not the corresponding Untucked season.

Seasons 1 & 2 are hard to watch tbh. Not sure season 6 will ever be topped.

The term E-Sports needs to go away forever. It's not a sport. It's not even in the same realm as sport. Anything competitive does not make it a sport. Athletes train - progamers practice. Stop calling it a ****ing sport. It is not a sport.
