happens to me all the time, i go to bed at 10pm, wake up at about 1pm. go to bed at 2am, wake up at 9am, like today

Dis bad for u... i heard..   messes with the circadian rhythm, which may increase your susceptibility to germz by dampening your immune system.

Yup. Ask your doc how he or she can wean you off the video games. Said no one, ever. (Well.. aside from the people that run the quit gaming boot camps in China and surrounding areas..)

I spent almost a grand on new tires, brakes, lifetime alignment and an oil change today.

Last week my tires were low on tread and my brakes were squealing so bad csmertx and Data could probably hear them across town. So, I'm happy I had a rainy-day fund to get all that fixed, but ouch!!

I don't have much time in the evenings, and I just spent 5 minutes typing up a response to another post, decided it was too acerbic, and closed the tab without posting.

Now I'm wasting time writing a post about being bothered about not posting the other post.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Letter came through my door from my ISP saying my internet, tv and phone will be down for a day. WTF. Guess I will have to communicate with CB or UHF radio. (I wish I could afford that stuff :p). Guess I will have to use my outdated phone :p

The public library probably has internet computers that you can use.

Trump’s behavior is so bizarre, so unhinged, and so counter to his short-term interests that the most likely explanation for his actions is that Trump either believes or knows that he is mentioned in the Epstein files in ways that are even more damaging than the blowback he is getting for not releasing the files."

who's ready for an update on my terrible week?

i finally left for work. i was painting a table and 4 chairs in someones garden. first - i HATE spiders. that really didn't help. second - it was hot, and for england, i mean HOT. my pale skin cooked to a crisp on minutes. finally, i was exhausted - probably because i don't exercise much.

after i got home, i walk into my kitchen to find a big moth. nice

I managed to hack a lump out of the end of the middle finger on my left hand yesterday.  I washed it, put antiseptic cream on it and a bandaid.

I haven't wanted to look at it since.

It hurts to type, so I can't type properly with my left hand.

This is so frustrating.

But maybe a dry run for a month's time when I have an operation on my left arm and might not be able to use it at all for a few days.

My eyes hurt HURT HURT HURT so much all the time.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I regularly close my eyes with my palms, take breaks, look far away and massage the eyes. Also, I'm typing this post with my eyes closed.

Flux is installed and run.

Nothing of that helps.

So I have been off marijuana for about a week+ now and my thoughts are going 1000mph. The constant buzzing of my brain and excess energy are literally driving me insane, and on top of it I haven't been sleeping well either. I am constantly bored when not at work and cannot stand the company of being alone with my non-medicated self at home. It feels like I just did a few rails of coke... all the ****ing time and I am acutely obsessive about anything requiring detail work. I do not believe my brain was meant to be sober, because this manic feeling is entirely unpleasant.

if you think that you are feeling, lets say, manic, when not medicated, you should probably get it checked out. you could just wait because it is a normal symptom but if it stays longer, do get it checked out. apart from that, i guess it's good that you are not using it but i really can't say because i have never tried it (unless it's prescribed and you need it for a condition which you should get checked out). some people on this forum can't sleep (including me) so you are not alone. its 1am here and i feel like its mid-day.

IMO, when your yearly insurance and repair bills start approaching your car's value, it's time to get a new one. Even though Camrys scream "My life is average", TP4 is spot on.

I bought a Fractal Node 804 because I was worried it would be discontinued before I had a chance to build a PC in one...

Now I have an amazing case in my loft just begging for me to buy parts for it...

Gotta wait for Zen... if it sparkles, remains to be seen..

I wanna do a custom water loop too...

I think it should work fine on zen, since it's gonna be a much bigger die..

Waterloop hasn't been useful on Intel except on 6 and 8 core.

ALSO.. off the shelf water loops are a stupid waste of money..

You can Go to the salvage places and get GIANT air-conditioner radiators for $50

Get some pipe threads welded on there from a welding place for $20, and you can Cool 10 CPUs and 10 gpus off that with a $15 boxfan..

Ladies love the look of an extra window unit being used to cool down a computer. The whole idea has a certain amount of je ne sais quoi if you ask me

I had a sealed loop, one of the early Corsair H50s or something which was actually pretty good. It only started leaking after like 2 years.

I don't know what you mean by working on zen or the die...
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Waterloop doesn't work on 3xxx series intel and up because their contact surface is too small, making water cooling no better than air cooling.

it works on the 6 and 8 core, because they're larger, and are also soldered.

I preordered some sneakers from an online retailer last week and got an email today saying they already sold out all the in-store pairs in my sizes. Why the hell did they even take preorders then?

They know how to take the pre-order they just don't know how to hold the shoes, and if you think about it that's really the most important part.

How horny Mexicans get over telling you a burrito you made or a fast food taco isn't genuine Mexican cuisine.

White Southern Californian.  Can confirm your taco or burrito is **** and not real Mexican.

Then again, if you ever get a  mission style burrito (which is delicious), that's not real Mexican either.
