Of interest.
The thermalright budget argb fans, the Forward version has 8 leds in the hub, but the "Reverse" blade version has 9 leds.
The big 14mm fans also have 9 leds.
Whuddupwith that??
The New arctic pro 140mms have 12 leds, and they're alot brighter leds, which indicate a much stronger driver chip.
-Drawback, a HUGE fan hub (bad), vs thermalright's very small hub.
DOES that justify the price pitch vs the thermalright. $33 vs $18.
You can kinda make a case for it, buhhhhhhhh in practical application, one would say no.
Conditions:
If they're in view, you don't run the LEDs at max power for daily use, they're very distracting and seer into your peripheral vision at peak brightness.
If they are out of view, then who cares how bright they are.
The color gamut is wider on the p14 pro, so the dope on the led itself is better, YES, but, BECAUSE of the way additive lighting works, that somewhat slight extended gamut isn't really realized, as ambient light pollutes the perceived purity of the final color, so it naturally desaturates, despite its innate ability,
FOR EXAMPLE, if you set the fans to RED, and turn all the lights out, they will look red. But if there is any ambient light, they actually look mostly orange, or in extreme case Yellow.
So... Even if they doped it with the best Quantum juice, the perceived gamut is a sliver of innate capacity.
